Carrickfergus Vets4Pets Ltd – Vets in Carrickfergus
Clinic Overview
- Many positive reviews describe the team as caring, professional and reassuring, with clear explanations of treatment and genuine concern for pets. - Several owners say staff are good with animals that are anxious or unwell; one long-term client of 15 years praised the practice’s communication, and another said the team had been brilliant with a dog through several health issues. - Negative experiences focus on inconsistent customer service, including complaints about a rude or abrupt manner from reception staff and one recent review describing a nurse as judgemental during a puppy vaccination visit.
Services
- •General veterinary care for dogs, cats and rabbits, including routine consultations, follow-up care and preventative appointments. Recent reviews mention puppy vaccinations, ear treatment, senior health checks, ongoing care for a dog with repeated health issues, and end-of-life appointments.
- •On-site diagnostics and monitoring, with an in-house laboratory for biochemistry, haematology and electrolyte testing, plus digital X-ray, ultrasound and ECG listed on the website.
- •Surgery and procedures, including an operating theatre, orthopaedics, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery interests within the vet team.
- •In-patient facilities, including an isolation unit and separate dog and cat wards.
- •Nurse clinics, health plans and pet travel documents, including pet passports and animal health certificates.
- •Training and emergency arrangements: the clinic is listed as a Veterinary Nurse Training facility, and out-of-hours emergency care is referred to Vets Now.
Pricing
Available published prices indicate the clinic sits above average relative to similar practices. Reviews on value are mixed but include several complaints about high charges and poor billing clarity, including a reported £100 ear consultation with drops, a review alleging £50 for ear medication, and a £385 euthanasia-related invoice that a customer said was not itemised.
People
Named on the clinic website are Kerensa Scott (Practice Owner & Veterinary Surgeon), Catherine McConnell (Veterinary Surgeon), Stephanie Cheevers (Veterinary Surgeon), Sarah Smyth (Veterinary Surgeon), and Pamela Patterson RVN. Reviews also mention receptionist Lindsay; recent feedback otherwise tends to praise or criticise the wider team, a vet, or a nurse without naming them individually.
